72 foreigners deported to Haiti

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at approximately 7:40 a.m., a Bahamasair charter flight departed New Providence bound for Port-au-Prince, Haiti, carrying sixty-two (62) Haitian nationals on board; forty-six (46) males, twelve (12) females, and four (4) minors.

Additionally, at 1:20 p.m., a Bahamasair flight carrying ten (10) Cuban nationals departed from New Providence for Havana, Cuba. The group consisted of nine (9) males and one (1) female.

The Department’s Deportation Team led both escort teams, strictly adhering to all COVID-19 protocols, as the health, welfare and safety of our officers, law enforcement personnel and immigrants remain the highest priority.
