(6) Agricultural Association discusses supporting farmers in Al Jawf to produce and sell their products

Today, the Multipurpose Cooperatives of Al-Jawf organized a forum for cooperatives and agricultural societies, aimed at discussing the sector and proposing initiatives to increase farmers’ production and support local marketing of their products at home and abroad. Mohammed bin Abdullah Fadil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Multipurpose Cooperatives of the Al-Jawf Regional Chamber of Commerce, explained that the forum witnessed the meeting of six associations. Discussion and proposal tables, including: Chairman of the Central Agricultural Cooperatives of Riyadh, Director of the Center for Social Development of Al-Jawf, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Agricultural Marketing Association, Olive Producers Participation Association, Dumat Jandar Governorate Dates Association and Jaba Dates Association, said that the forum, which provides services to farmers and producers and invests in the agricultural season of olives, dates, fruits, vegetables and fodder, was a joint cooperation forum between associations to discuss and benefit from the facilities and programs provided by the bank and the initiatives of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

The meeting produced several proposals, including joint investments in the agricultural sector of the Al Jawf region and an initiative adopted by the Central Cooperative to provide financial support to any initiative proposed by the associations, in accordance with specific studies and conditions that guarantee the implementation of the initiative and benefit from it.

The cooperative sector and non-profit associations in the Al-Jawf region support producers through initiatives related to mobilizing production and support, serving cooperative shareholders, farmers, and producers of dates, olives and their manufacturing industries. They provide seasonal contributions, including packaging products for local markets, and participate in seasonal festivals in the Al-Jawf region and festivals in various regions of the Kingdom to increase marketing opportunities for agricultural products.
