Five people were injured in a stolen car crash in Edison Park Friday night, according to Chicago police.
Police said a 21-year-old man was driving a stolen car with three passengers at high speeds, and the police helicopter was monitoring the vehicle. Police said he lost control of the vehicle around 10:35 p.m. and crashed into another car with a woman inside that was parked near the 7600 block of West Tui Avenue.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was taken to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition with injuries to his spine and legs, and the four other people involved were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries, police said.
Officers seized a handgun and detectives are investigating. Police said charges are pending and traffic tickets will be issued.
