Libreville, Tuesday, August 27, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – They are the source of the riots that rocked Gabon’s economic capital last week.

Port-Gentil, the capital of the Auguet Maritime department, has been on alert in recent days. And for good reason: a group of young criminals is spreading terror, creating a growing sense of insecurity in this sandy city.

The various acts committed by these youths include robbery, looting of stores, gang fighting, drug trafficking, etc. They use unemployment as an excuse for such acts, which is becoming increasingly serious. In view of this situation, the response of the authorities is to condemn this irresponsible and unpatriotic attitude.

The provincial governor, Paul Ngome Ayong, therefore strongly condemned the acts before declaring that they would face justice.

There were also some reactions to the summit. The head of state, in turn, instructed the defense and security forces to intervene to restore calm in the city. The police applied the instructions to the letter.
