32-year-old Gibraltar policeman arrested on suspicion of raping colleague in police station

A serving Royal Gibraltar Police officer has been arrested on suspicion of raping a colleague at the New Morehouse Police Station.

The 32-year-old local man was arrested by detectives from the force’s Professional Standards Unit just after 2pm yesterday following an allegation received by police this week.

He was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, attempted rape and misconduct in a public office.

The Gibraltar man was last night released on conditional bail and suspended from duty during the investigation.
