Authorities report that a man was shot and injured in the early morning hours of Monday, August 5, 2024, in front of a restaurant on Highway 187 in the Losapiones area.
According to preliminary information, police received a call through the 9-1-1 emergency system reporting that someone was shot and injured at the above location.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found a man named Kenil Aponte Brito22, of Rio Grande, was shot in the back and right leg.
These incidents are under investigation.
The victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Puerto Rico Police Department Special Agent Héctor Ramos, part of the Carolina Criminal Investigation Team (CIC) Strike Force, is in charge of the investigation of this case.
Cattle theft reported at Kapok Farm
Police reported on Monday that they were conducting a preliminary investigation into a complaint of cattle theft reported Monday morning at Finca Dios Bendice Incorporado in the Rio Abajo community in the town of Ceiba.
According to the police report, the complainant said someone entered the farm and took away 24 cattle, valued at approximately $30,000.
Agents from the Fajardo Regional Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) Property Unit continue to investigate.
