Mikheil Chkhikvishvili, 21, nicknamed “Commander Kasabi”, has been arrested in the US – allegedly the leader of a murderous cult
The U.S. Department of Justice made this clear in a statement.
The agency said Chkhikvishvili repeatedly encouraged others, primarily through encrypted mobile messaging platforms, to commit violent hate crimes and other violent acts on behalf of MKY, including soliciting large-scale violence from an individual in New York who posed as a potential MKY member. Unbeknownst to Chkhikvishvili, he was actually an undercover FBI agent.
Beginning in approximately November 2023, Chikevishvili encouraged the individual to commit violent crimes, such as bombings and arson, to harm minorities, Jews, and others.
“As alleged, the defendant sought to recruit others to commit violent attacks and murders in order to promote his neo-Nazi ideology. His intent was to target minorities, Jewish communities, and victimize the homeless by encouraging bombings, arson, and even poisoning children,” said U.S. Attorney Peace.
“In November 2023, Chikevishvili began planning a large-scale attack on New Year’s Eve in New York City. The plan involved an individual dressed as Santa Claus distributing poisoned candy to minorities. The plan also involved distributing poisoned candy to Jewish schoolchildren in Brooklyn,” the statement said.
