2025 African Union Commission elections

This was done by calling on interested candidates to submit their CVs to the Member States along with statements explaining how they would envision advancing the African Union’s transformation agenda and addressing the challenges facing the continent in the electoral process. The selection process for senior officials of the African Union Commission has begun.

These elections will be held during the 38th Summit African Union In February 2025, eight positions of responsibility will be included among the chairperson, vice-chairperson and six commissioners.

The election process of the Commission

Based on the principle of inter-regional rotation, the election process in February 2025 will be Point out:

The electoral process of the African Union is guided by the principle of ensuring equitable regional representation, with gender parity strongly recommended in order to elect members with leadership and responsible stewardship of affairs to achieve Africa’s development goals.
