Social, cultural, economic and environmental dimensions of food systems and transformations at the national level
WWF’s Russell E. Train Education for Nature (EFN) program invites aspiring and experienced researchers, practitioners, and leaders to apply for graduate degrees (Masters and PhD) aimed at better understanding food systems and the regionality of transformation.There is overwhelming evidence globally that food systems transformation is urgently needed, but little attention has been paid to how the transition to healthier and more sustainable food systems works at the national level.
The Food Systems Fellowship aims to support outstanding Masters or PhD students to conduct empirical, innovative and interdisciplinary research on national food systems to promote a deeper understanding of the specific nature of national food systems and transformations. Fellowship recipients will also have the opportunity to join the global community of EFN alumni to achieve knowledge exchange and collective success.
This scholarship is open to nationals of eligible countries WWF-USA focuses on: Belize, Brazil, Bhutan, Bolivia, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chile, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, French Guiana, Gabon, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Laos, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Paraguay, Peru, Republic of Congo, Suriname, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, currently studying or intending to study a master’s or doctoral degree program. Applicants can apply for up to two years of funding, up to $30,000 per year. Amounts vary.
