ABU Robocon 2024
The ABU Robot Contest 2024 Annual Conference was held in Quang Ninh, Vietnam on August 26, 2024, with representatives from 12 organizations including TVK of Cambodia, SDRT of China and NHK of Japan in attendance. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Yasu Nagahata, ABU Program Director and Head of the ABU Robot Contest Secretariat, and focused on the future of the Robot Contest.
ABU Secretary General Mr. Ahmed Nadeem moderated the meeting, followed by a speech by VTV-Vietnam Vice President Mr. Vinh, who thanked the participants for their participation. NHK-Japan’s Mr. Tomohiro Inoue gave a speech, while MNB-Mongolia Public Television CEO Mr. Magvan Erdenebat outlined the rules for the next Mongolian Robocon.
Mr. Nagahata announced the new board of directors for ABU Robocon 2025, with MNB Mongolia as chairman and VTV Vietnam and RTHK Hong Kong, China as vice chairmen. He stressed that the participants needed to obtain financial support from their own sponsors as well as from Japan to ensure the sustainability of the event. The meeting ended with Mr. Nagahata saying: “See you next year in Mongolia!”
