Phenology is the study of plant and animal life cycles in relation to the seasons. EROS maintains nine annual phenological indices for the contiguous United States derived from satellite data. Taken together, these indices are a powerful tool for documenting trends in life cycles and the impacts of climate change on ecosystems.
