Bra Reki DermakoyeThe President of the Solidarity Fund for the Defence of the Homeland, Ms. Brah Réki Djermakoye, announced on Friday, August 2, 2024, that the Fund has raised 14.87 billion CFA francs since its creation. Contributions come from voluntary contributions and institutional levies, which are divided into 7.55 billion CFA francs of voluntary contributions (60% in cash and 40% in kind) and 7.32 billion CFA francs of levies.

These taxes include 3.88 billion CFA francs from hydrocarbons, 774 million CFA francs from royalties from telephone operators and the post office, and 1.87 billion CFA francs from telephone and subscription fees, among others.

To date, the Fund has spent 7.77 billion CFA francs, 52% of which has been spent on interventions and 1% on operating costs. In-kind contributions valued at 2.99 billion CFA francs have been used to purchase scholarships, toys, fertilizers, books, medicines, vehicles and other goods.

Beneficiaries included the defence and security forces, the Ministry of Health, orphanages, civil-military operations and mosques. A total of FCFA 10.49 billion was used, of which FCFA 7.77 billion was spent and FCFA 2.72 billion was allocated in kind.

Ms. Djermakoy expressed her gratitude to all donors for their financial support.
