Bihać – Una Sana Canton Economy Minister Armin Kardašević confirmed that the Una Sana Cantonal Government allocated DM 1 million for the needs of improving business areas in the Bihać, Cazin, Sanski Most, Krjuč and Bosanski Petrovac regions.
According to him, these local communities were selected on the basis of an open call and the funds will be used for various projects in the field of public infrastructure.
“These projects are aimed at improving the business environment in the above-mentioned areas. Funds will be used to purchase or acquire land for the formation of business units, prepare plans, designs and other documents, as well as for the construction, reconstruction, expansion, repair, maintenance or other operation of public infrastructure in business areas. In addition to DM 1 million from the state budget, local communities will also participate in the implementation of the project with their own funds.”
According to him, the improvement of business districts is planned every year, which aims to build or improve the necessary infrastructure in these areas. In the post-war years, business districts in USK cities attracted a large number of investors, and the task of the authorities and competent bodies was to equip them with the infrastructure required for the operation of economic entities. An example is the “Kombiteks” business district in Bihać, where currently about twenty companies operate, but the problem remains the disorganized infrastructure, especially access to communications.
The Šejkovača business district near Sanski Most has more than 30 small and medium-sized enterprises, employing a large number of workers, and is also building roads and water supply networks. It was formed in the post-war period in a neglected swampy area where there were large illegal landfills. The local authorities arranged the land and then sold the construction land to investors on very favorable terms, and over time the investments were used to build the necessary infrastructure.
