Sierra Leoneans will have the opportunity to speak directly to the President, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, at a special town hall meeting organised by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education today (July 23). The event will take place at the prestigious Bintumani International Conference Centre at 4pm and will be broadcast live by national broadcasters SLBC and AYV, while community radio stations will be linked directly to Aberdeen.
This special town hall meeting will be dedicated to marking the 12 months of President Bioβs second term, focusing on the economy and the five major issues, peace and national cohesion, foreign relations with a focus on the United Nations Security Council, and a call to citizen action.
This is the first time that the sitting President has engaged with voters and spoken directly about key governance issues. The Ministry of Information and Civic Education collected questions and concerns through an online platform open to the public and collated them into questions for President Bio to address during todayβs deliberations.
The event will be attended by members of the public from all walks of life including school students, Attaya bases, business organizations, etc.
